Privacy
RemindYou.live works without accounts and keeps only what it needs to send your reminders.
What is stored
- A random browser ID in a first-party cookie, so this browser can see and manage its own reminders. Only a hash of its secret is stored.
- Your reminders: text, time, time zone, repeat setting and the language you used.
- A push subscription: the address your browser's push service provides to deliver notifications to this device.
- Usage events, such as “reminder created” or “notification shown”, to understand whether the tool works. They are not linked to your name, email or IP address. For each visit, the referring site, the type of device and browser, and an approximate country (from the time zone) are also recorded.
- Technical errors: the error message, the page and the type of browser, to be able to fix them.
Typing and speaking reminders
When you press Continue, the text you wrote is sent to OpenAI to read the task, day and time. If you use the microphone, your browser's own speech recognition turns it into text when it offers one; depending on the browser, the audio is then processed by its maker (for example Google or Apple) and only the text reaches RemindYou.live. Otherwise the recording is sent through the RemindYou.live server to OpenAI to turn it into text. The recording is not stored. The text and how it was read are kept for a short time, to find and fix mistakes. OpenAI is asked not to store these requests; it may keep them for a limited time for abuse monitoring under its API policies.
RemindYou.live doesn't use third-party analytics, ad trackers or third-party cookies. Reminders are private unless you create a share link. Anyone with that link can see the reminder's text and time and add a copy, until you stop sharing.
How long it's kept
- Finished or cancelled reminders: deleted after 30 days.
- Delivery logs: deleted after 90 days.
- Push subscriptions that stop working: deleted after 30 days.
- Browser IDs with no active reminders and no visits for about 13 months: deleted with their data.
- Usage events: deleted after about 13 months.
- Texts sent to be read, and the result: deleted after 30 days.
- Technical errors: deleted after 30 days.
Deleting a reminder in My reminders removes it immediately. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes your access to your reminders. They are then deleted by the schedule above.
Notifications
Notifications are delivered through your browser vendor's push service (for example Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft). Delivery is best effort and can be delayed by the device or the network.
